Sewing a fabric book cover is a splendid way to personalise and protect your favourite books. To begin, gather your materials: a piece of fabric (preferably cotton or canvas for durability), interlining for added sturdiness, scissors, pins, a sewing machine, and thread that complements your fabric.

Start by measuring your book. Add a few centimetres for seam allowances and cut your fabric accordingly; you’ll need two rectangles for the front and back covers, and two additional strips for the spine.
